Russian tennis player Mirra Andreeva has advanced to the third round of the WTA 1000 tournament in Rome, Italy.
In her second-round match, the eighth-seeded Russian defeated Croatian Antonia Ružić in straight sets, 6-1, 6-0. A set won without losing a game is commonly referred to as a “bagel.” The match lasted 1 hour and 6 minutes.
In the next round, the 19-year-old Andreeva will face the winner of the match between Australian Maya Joint and Swiss Viktorija Golubic.
Andreeva is currently ranked seventh in the world. She has won five WTA singles titles in her career.
The Rome tournament, with a prize fund of over €7.2 million, will conclude on May 17. The defending champion is Italian Jasmine Paolini. The event is classified as a WTA 1000 tournament, ranking just below Grand Slams and the WTA Finals in prestige.
